Clinics & Services
Adult & Child Immunisations
The Practice Nurses carry these out during surgeries by appointment. Most immunisations are available, including influenza from the beginning of October each year. Some are available on the NHS, but for some there may be a charge. There is no charge for routine childhood immunisations. Please ask for advice.
These are available by appointment with the Practice Nurse.
Baby & Child Health Clinics
These are run by the Health Visitors to monitor growth and development of all pre-school children. They will also offer advice and support on all aspects of child care. At present, the Health Visitor is at Bream on the 1st Wednesday of the month and at Yorkley on the 4th Thursday - from 1.30 - 2.30pm. A letter will be sent directly from Gloucestershire Child Health Department letting you know when it is the correct time to make an appointment with the doctor for your baby’s check-up.
Expert Patient Programme
If you have a chronic long term health condition, ask the receptionist for a leaflet on the Expert Patient Programme.
There is a part-time Health Visitor attached to the practice. She is available to give health advice and support to all families with young children. You can contact her directly on 0300 421 8746.
Patients who are confined to their homes and need nursing assistance may arrange for a Community Nurse to call. The hospital will normally arrange for a nurse to call on patients who are discharged but need nursing care. If you need to contact the Community Nurse you can ring 01594 563 154 and leave a message and someone will contact you.
Antenatal clinics are held each Monday 10.30 am – 12.30 pm at Bream and 2 – 4 pm at Yorkley. Please make an appointment. Antenatal care is provided by our midwife. Postnatal examinations are carried out by the GP eight weeks after birth.
Dr Michael Andrew, Dr Andrew Edwards, and Dr Jonathan Cleary perform minor operations. Please make an appointment in the surgery first to arrange a mutually convenient time.
Blood tests are by appointment with the phlebotomist. Appointments may be made online.
These are held at Yorkley on Thursday mornings and at Bream on Friday mornings, and are by appointment only.
Family Planning & Contraception
Please make an appointment with the doctor or practice nurse during surgery hours. They are also able to give advice on emergency contraception.
