How to make an appointment
We have routine, pre-bookable appointments for long term health conditions available at both of our sites (Yorkley & Bream Surgery).
A large, but limited, number of ’emergency / on the day’ appointments are available on a first come, first served basis. Please contact the surgery from 8:00am to organise one of these.
You may be offered an appointment at another surgery (as part of the Forest of Dean ‘Extended Access’ service). Our reception team are trained to ask a few questions about your healthcare problem when you call us. They may suggest alternative healthcare providers that could assist you (such as community pharmacies, opticians or physiotherapists) based on this.

Home visits
We encourage all patients to attend the surgery with their Health Problems as we have better facilities to examine, investigate and treat you if required. However, if you are housebound or too ill to attend the surgery, you may request a home visit. Please call Yorkley Health Centre 01594 562437 or Bream Surgery 01594 562437, (option 2) before 10am to do so.
All requests for home visits are triaged by a doctor. A home visit request does not guarantee a same day visit.
Our reception team are trained to ask you for some information about your health problem to help the triaging Doctor decide how best to deal with it. The doctor may choose to treat you by telephone or video call or refer you to another healthcare professional e.g. district nurse or health visitor.
Home visits are sometimes deferred to when the clinician that knows you best is working.
