Appointment Update & Online Appointment Booking

We’re pleased to announce that we have re-opened online booking for ROUTINE GP TELEPHONE appointments for those that have access to online services.

Due to Covid-19, all ‘first contacts’ with a GP will remain via phone or video consult. Your GP will judge how best to treat your problem & invite you in for a face to face appointment if they feel it is necessary.

Telephone appointments can be booked in the morning or afternoon. The Doctors will try their hardest to call you at your appointment time but due to workload this will not always be possible – therefore a ‘morning’ phone call could be made any time between 9 and 12 and ‘afternoon’ calls may be between 2 and 5pm. Please try to keep your phone nearby & not on silent as the Doctors only have one chance to call you – missed calls will require rebooking in the next available routine slot.

There are a smaller number of ’emergency / on the day’ telephone appointments available if you feel your medical problem cannot wait for the next routine appointment (currently a 3-4 day wait). These are running in place of the old ’emergency surgery’ and are limited in number. Please try to use them appropriately!

All of us at the surgery hope that the vaccine programme will allow us to return to the ‘old’ way of working in the future. We are tentatively putting plans in place for this to happen. However, we have no timescale for this as it can only happen when the Government give us the go ahead. We thank our patients for their ongoing understanding at this time.
